About Us

Dr Joseph Muhlari is a General Practitioner who renders private GP services, and now private Maternity services to mainly the people of the Municipalities of Greater Tzaneen and Maruleng. His passion is reproductive health, which passion spans a period of more than three decades, notable highlights of which are:

  • 1980’s: At the height of hostilities between the former homelands of Lebowa and Gazankulu, managing and running the three hospitals (Shiluvane, Sekororo, and, later, Dr CN Phatudi) alone, and, against the standards set by the HPCSA, saving the lives of thousands of mothers and babies. (I am proud today to witness that some of these who were born in these trying times are teachers, engineers, doctors, etc).
  • 1990’s to 2000’s: Establishing and running Maternity services where, during that period, more than 750 mothers delivered babies who today are a shining example of a result of how optimal maternal health services should be offered to would-be mothers in this country.
  • The establishment of the Maternity clinic today is a natural consequence and fulfilment of the owner, Dr MJ Muhlari, to have his passion realised during his lifetime.
  • To this end, Dr MJ Muhlari was proudly honoured when he was awarded “Professor of Philosophy in Leadership (Honoris causa)” by the Omega Global University, a Christian-based University, in recognition of his leadership qualities, especially in uniting the two tribes of Lebowa and Gazankulu through advancing reproductive health during the height of their hostilities.

Dr Muhlari’s wish is that his dream of impacting reproductive health through quality services to produce maternal key performance outcomes in line with those of the World Health Organisation, and not constrained by ability to pay for such services, is realised during his lifetime.
